Are you ready for superheroes, science fiction, time travel, space travel, and rom-coms?  Scarab Digital is a fun and driven creative studio that makes awesome interactive motion graphics and provides equipment rental services for the film and television industry.  For over 20 years, our Vancouver-based team has been collaborating with our clients to transform their creative vision into reality.

We are currently looking for an experienced Modeler/Texture Artist to join our team!  

THE ROLE: Modeler/Texture Artist 


  • Creation/Texturing of props, characters, and environments & retexturing/optimization of existing assets for use in Unreal Engine
  • Photogrammetry cleanup 
  • Create photo-real textures, both hand-painted and from set photography 
  • Work closely with team members to find creative and technical solutions that meet project requirements and deadlines
  • Research reference materials and adapt them to fit the style of the project


  • 3+ years experience in creating photo real 3D models for environments with solid foundation in traditional, photorealistic and digital art skills
  • Experience working in live action episodic television, film, games or commercial projects
  • A background in working with both hard surface and organic modelling and texturing
  • Proficiency in Maya, Houdini, Photoshop, ZBrush, Mari, Substance Painter, Mudbox and/or Modo
  • Strong ability to create high quality assets for real-time work-flows for a game engine.  
  • Modeling/Texturing experience working in Visual Effects, Animation, or Gaming Studios
  • Strong ability to multitask on several different projects simultaneously 
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to articulate and communicate ideas
  • Have excellent communication skills with an ability to articulate and communicate ideas.
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Ability to adapt quickly to meet production changes 
  • Organized, solution oriented and strong attention to detail skills
  • Possess the ability to focus despite pressure and tight deadlines
  • Able to work effectively in a team setting, have a strong work ethic


  • Previous experience and understanding of Virtual Production
  • Previous experience with Photogrammetry
  • Experience with more technical software (Speedtree, World Machine)
  • Strong willingness to continuously grow – improve old methods and learn new methods
  • Exceptional keenness to stay on top of new/evolving techniques and methods
  • Possess high motivation, great enthusiasm, and passion towards virtual production
  • Strong ability to understand and digest new/revised ideas and methods
  • Experience with production/project tracking applications, such as Wrike
